5D4N Tour of Hokkaido

The northernmost of Japan’s four main islands, Hokkaido remains relatively pristine as its natural tract comprises national park reserves, wetlands, lakes, as well as a smattering of hot springs in spots including Noboribetsu, Sounkyo, and Jozan-kei. Travels into the province and around its attractions come complemented by stays at local 4- and 5-star rated hotels, as well as meals provided as per itinerary.

  • After dusting off flight fatigue, the tour sets into motion with a visit to Jigokudani, or Hell Valley; working ways past steam and vapour fumes billowing through rocky crevaces and bubbling hot springs.
  • Bask in panoramic views of Mount Showa Shinzan and Lake Toya, from a vantage point atop Mount Usu; before stopping by the Bear Ranch, home to Hokkaido’s resident species of bears.
  • Next day travels bring you to Mount Yutei, an imposing stratovolcanic monolith from which the tour maneuvers to Yoichi Whiskey Factory, where brews of the national Nikka Whiskey are distilled. The day’s escapades then come to a pause at Otaru Ginnokane, where servings of tea and desserts abate lingering pangs.
  • Prior to winding down to the finale, the tour meanders through the open air walkabouts of Hokkaido’s Historical Village, a large-scale museum housing buildings hailing from previous eras – a display of the nation’s gradual growth from the periods of Meiji and Taisho; in addition to its Historical Museum counterpart containing documentation and artifacts reflecting Japan’s development – split into eight areas chronologically spanning pre-occupation years all the way up to modern-day progress.
