Beijing & Tianjin, China: Ancient Dynasties, Structures, and History

The capital of the People-s Republic of China boasts major rail networks, skyscrapers, and opulent buildings within its vastly populated metropolitan city. Intrinsic palaces, ancient parks, and historically-rich temples dating back to three millenniums ago keep visitors rushing in for a hint of China-s past. Housing the Forbidden City imperial palace which dates back to the Ming Dynasty, the spacious complex currently stands proudly within its 180 acre land as a World Heritage Site, famous as the home of the largest collection of preserved wooden structures in the world.

Situated on the northern border of China, the busy metropolis of Tianjin has been keeping its gates open as the major seaport and gateway to the nation’s capital since the mid-19th century. The busy monsoon-influenced city is currently the home of Nanshi, a city set within stone-covered walls and packed with distinctive buildings with glossy jade tiles, eloquent designs, and detailed patterns. Here one can marvel in the numerous shops brandishing local delights including seafood, breaded desserts, and meat buns before enjoying the sights of the flowing fountain perched in the centre of the city.
